Celebrating Our 2024 Summer Interns
July 25th marks National Intern Appreciation Day. This day is dedicated to acknowledging and celebrating the contributions of interns to our organization. Interns play a crucial role in COR's culture, bringing fresh perspectives, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.
While our team at Creative Office Resources (COR) value our interns every day, Intern Appreciation Day is specifically set aside to acknowledge and honor the dedication and contributions of interns nationwide. For us, it’s an additional opportunity to express gratitude for the vital role our interns play in supporting our team. At COR, we believe that our people are what makes us different, which is why we believe in investing in the development of interns, empowering them to become future industry leaders. Each of our interns plays a vital role across different departments, contributing their skills and energy to a diverse array of tasks and projects. Their hard work and dedication are instrumental in supporting our teams. We want to introduce these talented individuals and highlight the unique contributions they make to our organization.

Get to Know Our Interns
What do you love most about COR?
JH: I love the friendly atmosphere and comradery of my coworkers here at COR. I have been able to meet and discuss design with so many great designers and have learned a lot about MillerKnoll
AG: What I love about COR the most I how welcoming the company and specifically the project managers truly are. As an intern, I did not have much knowledge in project management prior to this great opportunity, and the team took me in with open arms and introduced me to great experiences.
GE: The opportunity to work closely with a team has allowed me to gain invaluable hands-on experience and expand my skill set. Being immersed in such a dynamic environment has been instrumental in fostering my professional growth and development. Additionally, the location of COR is one of its most appealing aspects to me, as it offers a vibrant atmosphere conductive to productivity. Overall, I appreciate the combination of engaging work culture and the environment that COR provides, enabling me to continually enhance my knowledge and abilities.
HR: COR’s prime location in the center of NYC is very exciting to me since we are surrounded by such a lively and bustling atmosphere that is also nearby so many cool design-related sites. I am also a big fan of the uplifting and supportive culture here where not only designers but also people from different departments are so open to helping one another and genuinely enjoy working collaboratively. I love COR for all its internal and external opportunities.
Which MillerKnoll product stands out to you the most, or which product do you particularly love using in the office?
JH: My favorite MillerKnoll product is the classic Eames Lounge chair, it’s the perfect reading chair and you can never go wrong with such an iconic look.
AG: One product that really stands out to me that is used frequently in the office by all employees including myself is the Framery Phone Booths. This is where you can take a moment to relax and take calls in throughout your day if you want a little break from the outside noise.
Where is your favorite spot to work in the office?
GE: My favorite spot to sit in the office is near one of my teammates so we can easily bounce ideas off each other. If I have any questions, they can help me and show me the best way to complete a task or project.
HR: In the office, I love to be near the big, tall windows because nothing beats working next to a source of natural light that also shows views of the city. It’s refreshing to turn my head sometimes to get a break from staring at the screen all day.
What have you learned or looking forward to learning from your team?
JH: I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge of commercial office furniture and design with my team.
AG: The project management team has given me a great opportunity to get a better understanding of what a project manager’s work schedule looks like on a day-to-day basis. Going to job sites and working with installers and general contractors has been my favorite part of this internship so far. It gives me a better understanding of what goes on behind the scenes and helps me understand the floor plans and lingo so that when I see the furniture on paper, I can visualize it in my head.
GE: I have gained so much valuable information. Specifically, I have improved my teamwork skills, learned how to take critiques, and how to give positive feedback. Additionally, I have learned to use InDesign and other software programs, along with tips and tricks to use them efficiently. I am even more excited to see what else I can learn during the rest of my time at COR!
HR: Although I’ve already learned so much about the brands, software, and logistics at COR from the elaborate training program, I am looking forward to learning more about working with a team of designers and different departments as well as external clients to see how projects are executed and completed.
Our interns work hard everyday and today is a way for us to show gratitude for their effort and crucial roles in supporting COR as an organization.
